The
Fillmore Family Seniors Services Fund
In
2005, our foundation created the Fillmore Family Seniors
Services Fund.
Recognizing that there is a growing population of largely
invisible LGBTQ seniors, who are increasingly isolated
by the need for sexual ambiguity when seeking support,
the mission of this fund is to lessen the physical, emotional
and social isolation of LGBTQ elders by supporting the
nutrition, housing and health needs of these community
elders.
Each year the foundation designates funds that may be
awarded to an organization(s) that delivers programs,
services or care to ageing and older LGBT persons. The
fund also provides financial support for LGBTQ seniors
in need of financial assistance with cost of living expenses,
including direct care expenses.
